Toronto, Ont. March 8, 2011: Theresa Nettleton, 12 (in blue sweater) and Rachael Liness, 13, from Windfields School, team up at the third annual Toronto School Scrabble Championships, held at Bessborough and Middle School.

There were 156 players from 24 schools, ranging from grade 4 to grade 8, including — new this year — a new high school division.

Jackson Smylie, 13, and Alex Li, 13, from Jack Miner Senior Public School won the tournament, with a 4-0 record. They will represent Canada at the National School Scrabble Championship in Orlando, Florida on April 15-16.
